Promobility provide training to organisations and individuals on the correct use of Wheelchair Tie Down and Occupant Restraint Systems (W.T.O.R.S).
A duty of care to all passengers during transit is their unequivocal right, as is the right of staff responsible for passenger safety, to be trained and certified in the correct use of wheelchair tie-down and occupant restraint systems.
We are an official UNWIN training partner, and we carry all current equipment with us to training sessions. Courses can be tailored to suit clients’ requirements, staff numbers and vehicle type. A certificate will be issued to each participant on the successful completion of our training programme.
Our typical class size is 6 to 10 people, within a classroom environment:
- Starting with a video presentation, giving trainee’s an understanding of the forces involved during a collision, and the importance of utilising the equipment correctly.
- Instruction on the use of wheelchair tie-downs and demonstration of alternative types.
- Instruction on the use of occupant seat belts.
- Practical advice on vehicle safety.
Our course is very much ‘hands on training’ and each participant will have the opportunity to secure a wheelchair and passenger in the training class.
